the positives about our struggling new head coach Authentic Haason Reddick Jersey , Steve Wilks—-and while he manifests impressive passion and diligence—-at this point it is very difficult to envision him as the right head coach to move the Cardinals forward. With Mike McCoy—-unfortunately it has been painfully clear for 6 weeks that he is not the offensive coordinator the Cardinals need. Many of us were upset the day he was hired. The main questions that need to be addressed and answered—-Is there any coach on this staff who is a good fit for QB Josh Rosen? What is wrong with RB David Johnson? Is there any coach on this staff who is the right coach for Johnson?Rosen and Johnson are the two major investments the Cardinals have made this year on offense. Rosen is showing positive signs, despite no running game and poorly conceived game plans. Is there a 3rd down play in the 2018 Cardinals’ playbook that would actually work? As for Johnson, he has not been the same since 2016 when BA was the head coach and Stump Mitchell was his RB coach. BA rode DJ hard—-he needs a coach with BA’s kind of gravitas. And Mitchell was a superb mentor and teacher. Look at what Mitchell is doing with the Jets’ running backs. His defection in 2017 was hardly talked about—-but without him on the staff, we have not seen the DJ we once were in awe of. Certainly not the timid, tentative, fumble-prone version we are seeing this year. These two concerns alone could be enough proof that the Cardinals need a new head coach in 2019.It would be another thing if the Cardinals’ defense was thriving under Steve Wilks. Alas, we haven’t even seen a standard type of base defense from Wilks even when he and everyone knows how impossible it is to defend good skill players (QB, RB, WRs, TEs) while trying to stop the run out of the nickel and while trying to snuff out passing attacks playing an array of soft zones, where you even sometimes see Haason Reddick and Josh Bynes covering a stud WR like Adam Thielen...especially when there’s a guy named Patrick Peterson on the field. The defense does make a lot of splash plays—-but they give up—-way too much. And this week the special teams units were putrid—-incurring penalties on virtually every punt which further pinned the struggling offense deep in its own end—-and 2 kickoff returns from Brandon Williams that he couldn’t advance past the 20 (while T.J. Logan isn’t even active). One could say, yeah but Williams did have one good return. He did—-but it was because the Vikings were zoning that return with 7 second left in the first half to make extra sure they wouldn’t give up a score. The gist is—-the offense can’t stay on the field—-the defense can’t get off the field——and the special teams are undisciplined and undependable. The offense is not the right offense for Rosen and Johnson—-the defense is not the right defense for the current personnel—-nor are the special teams.Mr. Bidwill—-could you please explain the current direction of the franchise? Because right now—-it is very difficult to comprehend.Arizona Cardinals force eight turnovers in 27-3 route of Dallas Cowboys For the Arizona Cardinals, the preseason hasn’t exactly done much to prepare them for the rigors of the regular season in the NFL.Yet, they sit at 3-0 after their 27-3 thrashing of the Dallas Cowboys. The Cardinals let Sam Bradford get the start , but David Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald and Josh Rosen would all be held out of the game for the Cardinals.Offensively, there was nothing to write home about. The Cardinals starting offense that was out there couldn’t block, couldn’t catch and couldn’t run. The good was seeing Sam Bradford take a lick from Randy Gregory, after he beat D.J. Humphries for a sack, and get up and dust it off. The Cardinals had kept Bradford clean so far in the preseason and sometimes, it is good to see a player get hit.Their bad offense didn’t matter though. In the first quarter, Andy Lee boomed a punt to the Cowboys that was muffed, mostly because of the punt but also the ferocious speed of Rudy Ford, and recovered by Trent Sherfield in the endzone. Then, on the ensuing Cowboys possession, in his new role on the defense, Patrick Peterson took a Cooper Rush pass, picked it and returned it for a touchdown putting the Cardinals up 14-0.Then Arizona Cardinals T-Shirt , it was the Mike Glennon show and the drops continued for the Cardinals skill players. The biggest concern of the first half had to be the lack of consistent push and protection from the first team offensive line and the lack of anything from the receiving corps.Defensively, the Cardinals forced five first half turnovers, including two punt fumble recoveries, the Peterson interception, a Peterson forced fumble and a Budda Baker interception on the lone redzone opportunity of the half for the Cowboys.Chase Edmonds finished the first half with 11 carries for 55 yards and one catch for eight yards and had 65 yards of the 108 for the Cardinals in the first half.Of course, with second and third teamers in to start the second half, T.J. Logan would reset that, breaking off a 59-yard touchdown run to put the Cardinals up 24-0.File this in the slightly interesting to see category, but the Cardinals second string linebackers in this game were Gerald Hodges and鈥?Haason Reddick. The Cardinals played exclusively in nickel for the entire game, meaning the starters on defense we’re Deone Bucannon and Josh Bynes, both who were finally back from injury. It likely was just to get Bucannon and Bynes as many reps as possible, but we’ll see in game one. There was little after the Logan touchdown to write home about, but one player once again found a way to make a splash play, as Cap Capi had a strip sack recovery in the fourth quarter.Late in the game Arizona Cardinals Hats , Matthew McCrane kicked another 50+ yard field goal, this one from 54-yards, to extend the lead to 27-0.The Cardinals defense gave up the shutout late, surrendering a field goal late. There was not much to take from this game, outside of the defense played really, really well against a lot of backups. However, the offense did nothing without their top skill players in, despite having their starting offensive line in the entire first half. Also, is there a kicking competition controversy or was the broadcast right that this is Phil Dawson's job?Hopefully nothing serious for either D.J. Foster or Arthur Moats, but we will announce anything as soon as we get it.
